tranformation lab writeup
Paragraph one - Our results were pretty accurate to our prediction, we both thought that there would be cell growth in the ones without ampicillin but the ones with ampicillin would not grow as much bacteria. None of the results were very surprising because we knew that ampicillin prevents bacteria from spreading or forming. One source of error was when we didn't spread the bacteria very well on the plate.
Paragraph three - This could connect to the study of cancer and cancer treatment because it shows how we can change how cells and bacteria grow and what types of proteins they have in them. This would help with cancer research because we need to know how we can change the way the body reacts to cancer so we can better treat it and eventually hopefully cure it. One example is CRISPR. CRISPR is found in bacteria and it is a defence mechanism where the bacteria will take in part of a viruses dna and if the virus attacks again the bacteria will be prepared to fight it off because it has the dna already taken in. We can use CRISPR to our advantage because it can edit and copy almost any segment of DNA in the 3 billion letters of the human genome. This could be incredibly useful in treating cancer and many diseases in the future.

pig disection
in this project we dissected a pig to study the internal organs of the pigs. in this project I learned where each organ was and what function each organ has.
