In our first unit we read the color purple and had many discussions throughout reading the book. when we where finished reading the book we did the color purple seminar where we answered questions about the book and wrote about our thoughts on what happened in the book.

 after reading the book we did either an art project or a writing project where we would interpret one of the many topics in the book into one idea that we could focus on. I focused on the many different opinions of religion, mainly how different people think of god. The idea of the painting was how some people find happiness and fulfillment in god and believing in all that god is to them. while others are skeptical or scared of an ominous figure in the sky, and how they may find discomfort in the idea of god and those who unblinkingly believe in it.
